The Siemens toolset for simulation and development of rechargeable batteries continues to grow to cover the complete digital thread for battery design. The Siemens workflow is evolving quickly as companies develop best practices for designing systems that meet safety needs while satisfying energy and charge requirements.

Battery system developers need to have a fast and affordable way to explore battery chemistry mixes that will support reliable battery assembly to last the life of the product.

Join us for this webinar highlighting the design workflow and hear unique engineering stories and methodologies that show how this Siemens solution is the best in the industry.

Siemens Solutions included in this workflow:

  • Simcenter Battery Design Studio: Material tradeoff and cell design validation
  • Simcenter Culgi: Material and cell chemistry development
  • Simcenter Amesim: Cell performance characterization and pack architecture definition
  • Simcenter Amesim and Simcenter STAR-CCM+: Safety standard compliance
  • Simcenter STAR-CCM+: Thermal management and system validation
  • Simcenter Amesim: System integration and requirements validation

About the Speaker

  • Adam Green

Director, Business Development, ATA Engineering, Inc.

Mr. Green is a veteran of the CAE/CFD industry, originally as a technical user at UK Ministry of Defence and then at CHAM Ltd, UK, and since then in business development with AEA Engineering Software and CD-adapco. Mr. Green is now with ATA Engineering as part of the Siemens VAR team, specializing in STAR-CCM+. • John Wilson, Ph.D.

Presales Solution Consultant, Siemens Digital Industries Software

John Wilson has over eight years of commercial experience in multiphysics simulation. He started his career at Siemens after completing his PhD at Imperial College London. After working in technical support for Simcenter STAR-CCM+ for six years, he joined the 3D Fluids Center of Excellence organization at Siemens as a customer solutions consultant focusing on battery cell development and thermal management. He recently performed a custom proof of concept for a major Electric Vehicle manufacturer to understand the propagation of thermal runaway in their near 200-cell battery pack. As a form of continuing education, he recently completed a certificate in Advanced Mathematics at the University of Houston with focuses on statistics, linear programming, and multivariate analysis.
