GET SPECIALIZED TRAININGATA offers training classes that can be standard courses or customized to your engineering team’s specific needs in a broad range of engineering disciplines. We hold these courses both at ATA facilities and on site at customer locations.
ATA has more than a decade of experience in the development of training materials for a variety of engineering software packages.
ATA has a cooperative courseware development agreement with Siemens Digial Industries Software in support of its Simcenter Nastran software, one of the company’s flagship computer-aided engineering products. Under this agreement, ATA is responsible for the development of training course materials for the Simcenter Nastran finite element analysis software suite and the Simcenter Response Simulation add-on module for forced response dynamics.
Training materials cover the full range of Simcenter Nastran capabilities, including basic static analysis, basic and advanced dynamic analysis, forced dynamic response, direct matrix abstraction programming (DMAP), aeroelasticity, rotor dynamics, optimization and sensitivity analysis, and coupled structural/acoustics analysis.
Simcenter Nastran courses are offered for both of Siemens Digital Industries Software’s 3D simulation solutions, Femap software and Simcenter 3D.
In addition to being responsible for the development of this courseware, ATA is the preferred North American provider of instructor-led courses for Simcenter Nastran. These courses provide hands-on instruction with the Simcenter Nastran and Simcenter 3D Response Simulation software through lecture and reinforced with extensive workshops.
ATA’s headquarters in San Diego, California, contains a 3,000 square foot training facility with seating for eighty people, equipped with dual 90 inch LCD TVs, workstations, integrated sound system with wireless microphones, web camera, and Wi-Fi, offering students a state-of-the-art training experience. Our Denver and Washington, D.C., offices also house dedicated training facilities that are regularly used for classes and other events.
In addition to hosting standard classes at our facilities in San Diego, ATA also provides custom training that can be tailored to your specific needs and on-site training at your facilities. If you are interested in custom or on-site classes, please contact us to discuss your needs.
Dr. Paul Blelloch’s technical expertise is in the analysis of complex dynamic systems, particularly in the areas of control-structure interaction, optimization, model reduction, dynamic loads, model updating, and vibro-acoustics.
As well as managing and performing a large variety of projects for various NASA centers and both large and small aerospace companies, Dr. Blelloch has developed advanced methods for model reduction of dynamic systems, damping of coupled systems, analysis of control-structure interaction problems, non-linear dynamic response, fluid slosh, pressure stiffening of tanks, rapid payload reanalysis, sensor selection for modal testing, model updating, and development of launch vehicle buffet loads. He has also developed classes in structural dynamics and vibroacoustics that he has taught at many NASA centers and aerospace companies.
Dr. Matt Kaplan’s expertise is in dynamic analysis, model correlation, optimization, finite elements, eigensolution techniques, and component mode synthesis, with extensive experience in software design, development, and implementation.
In his work as a senior project engineer for ATA Engineering doing advanced dynamic analysis on aerospace-related projects, Dr. Kaplan developed the forced response capability for ATA’s Vibrata software, which interfaces with Femap and Abaqus. He also developed ATA’s Attune, a commercial test-analysis correlation and model updating tool, and contributed to the software design of linear forced response in Abaqus/Standard. Dr. Kaplan has many years of experience with Nastran and has developed and taught short courses in static and dynamic analysis using Simcenter Nastran, as well as other customized classes.
Dr. Mike Yang’s technical expertise lies in applying advanced computer-aided engineering tools to the dynamic analysis of complex aerospace structures. Dr. Yang is a senior project engineer and leader of the vibroacoustics technical working group.
In addition to experience with model development, correlation, and analysis, Dr. Yang is experienced with class development and teaching including NX/Nastran for coupled fluid-structural analysis and general vibroacoustics.
Dr. Alexander Sprunt’s technical expertise is in the application of static and dynamic analysis to the design, analysis, and testing of highly engineered products, particularly optical systems.
Dr. Sprunt is a senior project engineer with the Aerospace Analysis group, where he has worked on a variety of analysis, test, and systems engineering projects in the aerospace industry. Those projects have included prediction, measurement, and requirements development for a wide variety of static and dynamic responses of spacecraft, instruments, vibration isolators, and optical systems to meet strict performance requirements. In the course of this work, he has used Nastran, MATLAB, IMAT, Femap, git, and I-deas extensively.
