On-Demand Webinar: Modeling Advanced Materials with Simcenter 3D Materials Engineering, Part 2

Reducing project risks while making the most of new materials and techniques

Most new products involve some degree of material innovation, either from entirely new materials, combinations or improvements to existing materials, or innovative manufacturing methods such as additive manufacturing. Your ability to model and use novel materials provides a competitive advantage, but it comes with some risk. While these materials and manufacturing processes enable unique shapes and superior material performance, predicting the behavior of these materials, with their complex microstructures and failure mechanisms, presents challenges for your structural design.

This webinar showcases a new technology available within the Simcenter 3D product family, Simcenter 3D Materials Engineering, that provides essential material modeling capabilities at multiple scales. Whether you are dealing with high-temperature composite materials, 3D-printed parts, woven textiles, or porous materials, Simcenter 3D Materials Engineering can help you characterize your materials and use these material models efficiently within Simcenter 3D. Based on a true multiscale approach, this technology allows you to model the impact of advanced and novel materials on your overall structure without the computational expense these efforts previously entailed. Join us to see how this exciting new multiscale technology can reduce runtime by 99.9% and memory usage by 99.7% compared to direct modeling, yet with no loss in accuracy.

Agenda:

About the Speaker:

Hayden Cornwell, Siemens Digital Industries Software, Inc.

Hayden Cornwell is Technical Product Manager for Simcenter 3D Materials Engineering at Siemens Digital Industries Software. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where his university research was on micromechanical characterization of advanced nano-engineered composite materials at MIT’s NECSTLab. He joined the company MultiMechanics in 2017 as an application engineer focusing on multiscale simulation for aerospace composites. When MultiMechanics was acquired by Siemens in 2020, Mr. Hayden assumed his current role at Siemens.
