Learn more about capabilities and best practices for hypersonic CFD analysis.
There is a growing interest in hypersonic vehicles for a wide range of aerospace and defense applications, but physical testing for product development is difficult and expensive. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) can be an essential tool in the early design of hypersonic vehicles, as it can provide valuable insight into the flow field around these vehicles and the resulting structural and thermal loads.
ATA Engineering has a dedicated CFD team working on diverse projects, including many hypersonic applications, using tools such as Simcenter STAR-CCM+ from Siemens and Loci/CHEM, a university code from Mississippi State University.
This webinar will look at best practices for hypersonic CFD analysis and discuss the pros and cons of different CFD methodologies and capabilities:
- Meshing approaches
- Adaptive mesh refinement (AMR)
- Turbulence and heating physics models
