Capturing Nonlinear Effects within Transient Coupled Loads Analysis

In June 2016, ATA engineer Sam Dyas presented “Capturing Nonlinear Effects within Transient Coupled Loads Analysis” at the 2016 Spacecraft and Launch Vehicle Dynamic Environments Workshop. This presentation describes the use of Nastran’s NOLINi card in Linear Modal or Direct Transient Coupled Loads Solutions to represent local nonlinearities such as impact, separation, and gapping. Implementation methods and tips are discussed.
