ATA Awarded SEAM II Contract to Support NASA Johnson Space Center Flight Operations Directorate

ATA receives five-year aeronautics and structural engineering contract to provide high-value analysis, design, and test solutions to NASA

SAN DIEGO, Calif., June 28, 2021 – ATA Engineering (ATA), a nationwide provider of innovative, high-value test- and analysis-driven engineering design solutions, is proud to announce that we have been selected by NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) for a second five-year specialized engineering, aeronautics, and manufacturing (SEAM II) contract to address the engineering needs of the Flight Operations Directorate (FOD).

Under the SEAM II contract, ATA will continue to support the JSC FOD with loads, dynamics, structural analysis, damage tolerance, computational fluid dynamics, ground vibration testing, stress/strain testing of mechanical components, and flight testing needs. The contract extends ATA’s relationship with NASA, which began in the mid-1970s when the company first performed dynamic testing of various components of the Space Shuttle prior to its first flight.

“We are excited for another chapter in our longstanding and highly valued relationship with NASA, which dates back over forty years,” ATA President Josh Davis said. “ATA is passionate about supporting our NASA center partners with top-quality service and engineering solutions to ensure the success of their development programs and flight operations. The SEAM II contract reflects the confidence that NASA and the aerospace industry place in the advanced design, simulation, and test capabilities that we deliver every day.”

The new five-year SEAM II contract extends ATA’s ongoing aeronautics and structural engineering support to NASA JSC through the end of 2026.
